Affirm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build real-time data processing pipelines. The role involves working with stream processing technologies and building scalable data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team
• Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics
• Identify and solve project, process, technology or business issues
• Support operations and availability of team's artifacts
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in designing, developing and launching backend systems
• Experience with Python or Kotlin
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience with stream processing frameworks like Spark, Samza, Flink, Beam
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Experience with Confluent Platform (Schema Registry, Tableflow)
