Join DoorDash's Traffic team to design and operate the networking and service mesh platform for reliable service-to-service communication. Work with cloud-native technologies like Envoy, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate networking and service mesh platform
• Operate and evolve service mesh using Envoy and cloud-native technologies
• Improve reliability, observability, latency, and security for service communication
• Develop automation and tooling for configurations and traffic routing
• Collaborate with Compute, Cloud Infra, and Product teams
• Drive best practices in API management and load balancing

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering
• Experience with service mesh or networking systems like Envoy, Istio, Linkerd, or NGINX
• Comfortable with distributed systems and debugging traffic issues
• Strong development skills in Go, Python, or similar languages
• Understanding of containerized environments and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-traffic, production-grade service communication systems
• Knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP, TLS, load balancing, and DNS
• Experience with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry
• Passion for reliability, simplicity, and developer experience
• Contributions to CNCF or Envoy communities
